SHK ESSEN 2020 puts new emphasis on "operational mobility"

Focus on traffic turnaround: Separate exhibition area for companies from the mobility sector

Impending bans on diesel driving, climate protection targets, national traffic turnarounds - the future of mobility affects all sectors of society, industries and economic sectors. SHK ESSEN, the trade fair for sanitation, heating, air conditioning and digital building management, will focus on this important topic from Tuesday, 10 to Friday, 13 March 2020. In the new exhibition area "Company Mobility" exhibitors from the mobility sector will meet interested SHK craftsmen.

"Specialist tradesmen in particular often cover short distances in densely populated centres. Diesel vehicles are often used for this purpose. How long this will still be possible is unclear. One thing is certain: Companies today need high-quality advice and sustainable solutions in order to survive on the market tomorrow. As a trade association, we are therefore very pleased that SHK ESSEN is dedicating its own area to operational mobility, from which our members and everyone else can only benefit," says Hans-Peter Sproten, Managing Director of the North Rhine-Westphalian Sanitary Heating and Air Conditioning Trade Association, the ideal sponsor of SHK ESSEN.

An overview of the many facets of mobility

The new exhibition area "Company Mobility" is planned for the Galeria of Messe Essen and follows a holistic approach. The cooperation partner is the Essen Mobility Partnership. Companies from the fields of mobility management, vehicle fleet, logistics and transport, employee mobility, photovoltaics and charging stations as well as services can participate. The range on offer includes the conversion to emission-free vehicle fleets, e-bikes and load bikes, bicycle leasing, solutions for optimised goods traffic, efficient route planning, but also employer-sponsored fitness and health programmes.

Trade visitors at SHK ESSEN are eager to invest

SHK ESSEN takes place every two years at Messe Essen. Around 44,000 visitors from 18 nations attended the last event in March 2018. At SHK ESSEN, the exhibitors meet customers who are very interested in innovative products and solutions. More than two thirds of trade visitors have an influence on purchasing and procurement decisions. Around 70 per cent plan to buy after the fair, more than one in four even orders directly on site.
