Crystal IS, an Asahi Kasei company, was founded in 1997 to develop a native aluminum nitride (AIN) substrate for reliable, more powerful semiconductor devices. Crystal IS now uses its industry-leading AlN technology to manufacture top-quality LEDs that emit UV light, including deep UV (UVC) LEDs. These LEDs integrate into end products that treat, disinfect and sterilize air, water, and many surfaces spanning a variety of applications. Additionally, Crystal IS LEDs can be utilized as light sources for industrial and scientific instrumentation.
