With headquarters in Unterhaching near Munich, Daikin Airconditioning Germany GmbH supplies high-quality, energy-efficient heat pumps and air conditioning systems for residential, commercial and industrial markets. For the retail sector, Daikin also offers products for refrigeration and freezing along with ventilation systems and chillers. With around 420 employees and turnover of €224 million (2020/2021), the German subsidiary of Daikin Europe N.V. is the country's market leader in the field of VRV air conditioning technology. More than 85% of the units supplied to the European market are manufactured in Europe. As a European subsidiary of Daikin Industries Ltd. – the world's leading manufacturer of air conditioning, refrigeration and heat pump systems based in Osaka, Japan – Daikin Europe employs around 11,000 people in the EMEA region.
In 2016, Daikin Europe N.V. acquired Zanotti S.p.A., a specialist company founded in 1962 with over 50 years of experience in commercial and industrial refrigeration and in the transport of fresh and frozen products. In November 2018, Daikin acquired the Austrian refrigeration manufacturer AHT. This complements the Daikin product portfolio and further expands the company's commercial and industrial refrigeration business in Europe.
Daikin will be presenting a range of innovative HVAC solutions for the residential market as well as for commercial and industrial applications at the Chillventa trade fair in Nuremberg.

Daikin pursues an uncompromising environmental strategy that is dedicated to energy-efficient products, alternative refrigerants and eco-friendly production processes. The company is the world's only air conditioner manufacturer that develops and produces all major components in-house, from refrigerants and compressors to electronic components.

For the seventh year in a row and the eighth time overall, Daikin Industries Ltd. was named one of the "Top 100 Global Innovators" in 2021 by Clarivate Plc, a global analytics company based in London. Daikin is recognised as one of the 25 most valuable Japanese brands (source: Interbrand "Best Japan Brands 2018").
Daikin split air conditioners have been ranked as test winners by Stiftung Warentest, a German consumer association, for three years in a row. In 2022, the Daikin Perfera single-split air conditioner received a 2.0 (good) test quality rating from this organisation. Daikin air conditioners are outstanding when it comes to energy efficiency and environmental friendliness. They combine eco-friendly, cutting-edge technology with advanced design and highest product quality.
Daikin has also received several Red Dot Design Awards, most recently in 2022 for the Daikin Emura split air conditioner. This product also won the iF Design Award in 2022. Daikin's commitment to sustainability was honoured in October 2019 when the VRV IV+ Heat Recovery series won the Architect's Choice Award/Best Renewable Product for its use of recycled refrigerants.
Projects and products from Daikin Airconditioning Germany GmbH have received three German Refrigeration Prizes from the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU). These awards were presented for the Conveni-Pack (energy-efficient integrated solution for food retailing), for the Live Labor research project on commercial net-zero energy buildings and for the dm-drogerie markt (drugstore chain) sustainable building technology concept.
